I remember being scared shitless as a 9 yr old in the Concord, NH congregation. The elders (or whatever they were called then) were beating the Armageddon drum pretty loudly. If they were doing this, I wonder how much they were influenced by headquarters . .?

Interesting question, looking forward to the responses . .

just to review, i had my meeting today with the two elders who say a sister has accused me of "grinding" with her and thus porneia.

so i printed out several of your comments on how to defend myself.

i felt good about standing my ground, and repeating that i had not "grinded" with this ex-friend and that she wants to ruin the relationship i have now with the sister i am dating.. however, the two elders today really tried to pressure me.

I love my job. Best I've ever had and hopefully I can retire there. Telecom Engineer at an Engineering Consulting firm specializing in Public Safety Radio Communications. My principal duties are to do all the GIS (geographic information systems . . smart maps) stuff. I also get to hike alot in the wild areass (The Bronx, Queens, Lower East Side ) . . as well as the Adirondacs and the Catskills. . .

Spent Feb and March this year on snowshoes hiking all over the wilderness of Chautauqua county offroad testing a State Police radio system, each 3 person team had to carry a rifle because of the bears and other critters.

There are thousands of radio towers in NY State and I've been to most of them . .

i've gotten a few responses, but nothing seems promising yet.

i get the feeling that internet dating is more about quantity than quality, but i think that's what i need right now.

I met Mrs LoB through a personal ad in a singles magazine in Boston 20 years ago this spring. The best single thing I've ever done in my life.

I loved the clubs, dancing, and bars, just got really tired of the shallowness, cokeheads and one nighters.

Tried to fade away

i left my chauvanistic po elder husband 2 1/2 years ago (after 20 years of marriage - ten of those spent pioneering as a couple).

i took my two beautiful teenage daughters with me - he did not seem to care too much that we were gone.

his main concern was the humiliation and aggravation of having to step down as an elder.
